Step 2 · Measure liquids

FagronLab™ Liquid Dispenser ELD

Easy Liquid Dispenser — bottle-top precision dosing

The ELD Easy Liquid Dispenser is a bottle-top dispenser designed for pharmacies, giving compounders precise, repeatable dosing of the liquid raw materials used most often in daily preparations. It mounts directly on the stock bottle, so the measured volume is drawn and dispensed in one controlled piston stroke instead of being poured or pipetted by eye.

FagronLab™ Liquid Dispenser ELD

How it is used

  • Measuring liquids in the Solution workflow before transfer to the beaker.
  • Measuring liquid APIs for direct incorporation into a PM jar.
  • Dispensing solubility enhancers and solvents for cream, gel and suppository formulations.
  • Set the volume with the adjustment knob, pull the piston slowly to the upper stop to fill the glass cylinder, then push it down evenly to dispense; leave the piston down after use.
  • Prime the instrument on first use — pump all air from the tubes and discard the first samples dispensed.

Advantages

  • Mounts directly on the raw material bottle with the supplied PP adapters (GL 25, GL 28, GL 32, GL 38, S40)
  • Wetted parts limited to chemically resistant borosilicate glass, PFA, FEP, PTFE and Hastelloy
  • Autoclavable at 121 °C, 2 bar absolute (15 psi) for 20 minutes
  • Filling and discharge valves are removable for cleaning or replacement with the supplied mounting tool
  • Volume can be verified gravimetrically for accuracy, standard deviation and coefficient of variation
  • 24-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship

Operating exclusions and limits

Never use the ELD with liquids that attack FEP, PFA, PTFE or Hastelloy, liquids that attack borosilicate glass (such as hydrofluoric acid), liquids decomposed catalytically by Hastelloy (such as hydrogen peroxide), explosive liquids, or suspensions — solid particles can clog or damage the instrument.

Concentrated hydrochloric and nitric acids, chlorinated and fluorinated hydrocarbons, and liquids that form deposits can make the piston difficult to move or cause jamming. When dispensing flammable media, avoid static charging: do not dispense into plastic vessels and do not wipe the instrument with a dry cloth.

Cleaning and maintenance

Clean the instrument whenever the piston becomes difficult to move, after dispensing liquids that form deposits, before changing raw material, prior to long-term storage, if liquid has collected in the closure cap, and before sterilization.

The filling and discharge valves unscrew with the supplied mounting tool for cleaning or replacement; reassemble in reverse order, insert the piston straight into the cylinder, and flush with distilled water. If the piston sticks, stop dispensing immediately and clean rather than forcing it.
